Please follow the City's river rules while planning your ideal New Braunfels Getaway!!
We want you to have safe, fun float on either the Comal or the Guadaluipe Rivers.
No glass, no styrofoam, no littering, no trespassing on private riverfront property, no public alcohol consumption before noon on Sundays. Life jackets are required for kayaks and rafts.
Tips for a good trip: Wear shoes! I cannot tell how many tourists have been seen hopping along on hot pavement as they walk to the tube chute! Shoes protect your feet from rocks and glass.
Pay a few extra bucks and rent a toob with a bottom. Wear sunscreen! Bring non-alcholic
drinks to keep hydrated.
No beer bongs, no jello shots, radios may not be audible beyond 50 feet. No jumping off bridges, dams or trees.
Maximum permitted cooler size is 16 quarts. Coolers must have a locking mechanism on the lid. Vessels on the river may not be bigger than 18 ft in lenght.
Downstream of the Gruene Road Bridge: When the river flow is over 500 cubic feet per second, all children under 8 must wear life jackets.
When the flow is over 750 cubic feet, everyone must wear a life jacket.
When the flow is over 1000 cubic feet, no tubing is allowed.
No alcohol in River Acres or Cypress Bend Park.
